Fullmetal Alchemist
2: Curse of the Crimson Elixir | Playstation2, PS2 |
|
Game Description: Write a Review
|
The brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric
are on a quest to find the legendary Philosopher’s Stone in Square-Enix’s
PS2 game FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST 2: Curse of the Crimson Elixir. The
game has its roots in the anime FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST, and fans of the
series will find the world faithfully recreated. The brothers start
their journey by finding a strange crimson stone, an item which has
the ability to amplify alchemist powers. Then, golems attack a
village looking for more stones. The duo steps in and ends up
meeting a strange girl who speaks only in riddles. All of this
combined makes a mystery Edward and Alphonse can’t resist. While
both brothers are in the game, players only control Edward; Alphonse
is AI-controlled, although players can issue him commands. The
brothers will also occasionally be joined by other, strictly
AI-controlled, alchemists. Edward, who has a metal arm and leg, can
punch and kick enemies or, using his alchemist powers, transmutate a
weapon from the earth. Players can summon a sword, a lance, or a
hammer, each of which have specific uses. Other items can be
transmutated as well, giving Edward control of everything from a
blow gun to a tank. FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST 2: Curse of the Crimson
Elixir is a treat for fans of the anime and action-adventure fans,
as well. The storyline, while following the anime, requires no
previous knowledge of FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST, making it accessible to
everyone while giving fans the feeling of actually participating in
their favorite series.
