Bottle Caps  -  After you enter the Castle, and go through the Hall of Water to the Observation Hall. Next to the Merchant, A blue door with golden gun engravements lies in wait. Go through the door and begin the Target Practice game. Select Game Type A to begin a game. During certain portions of the game, other blue doors similar to this can be found. Enter them and finish the Target practices by fetting 3000 points or higher to get 6 bottle caps. After you get 6, talk to the merchant and end the game. If you collected 6 different caps of the same game type, you will get some pesetas.

Hat trick and strike a pose  -  This can only be done if Leon is wearing the "mafia" outfit and has the Chicago Typewriter equiped. Hold R1 to take aim and then press square. Doing so will cause Leon to remove his hat, adjust it, and then place it back on his head. Continue to do this. On the 4th time Leon will remove the hat, toss it in the air, catch it, and then stike a pose.

Heavy Ashley  -  When you unlock the knight costume for Ashley, not only will she be too heavy to be hurt and picked up by ganados, but will even give Leon the pains. Whenever you need to catch her after jumping down, Leon will go down on a knee while catching the heavy Ashley, then hold his back in pain.

Prevent Parasites from appearing  -  Once Leon and Ashley reach the castle in Chapter 3-1 or the island in Chapter 5-1, you'll begin to battle black robed cultists or armored militia ganado. To prevent parasites from appearing, kill them with a suplex. When a cultist or a militia ganado are standing or slowly walking (not running), a shot to the leg from a weaker weapon (handguns or the TMP) will sometimes cause them to fall to their knees. When this happens, the game will promt you to initiate a suplex once you're close enough to the enemy. If the suplex kills thems, it is guaranteed a parasite will not appear. This also works on red robed culists, which will otherwise always spawn parasites with lots of health. However, the suplex cannot be performed on village-style ganados. Using hand grenades or explosive barrels to kill ganados will also prevent parasites, as will burning them (using incendiary grenades, ceiling urns containing red oil, or the villager's own torches).
Looking at Ashley the wrong way  -  When Ashley is following you find something somewhat high off of the ground and climb on top. Then tell Ashley to stay put. Go below where you left Ashley standing. When you are underneath and you try to move the right analogue stick up to look at Ashley, she will ask Leon what is he looking at and call him a pervert.

Unlock the Handcannon  -  In the course of the mercenaries game, you can unlock extra characters by completing the maps with a high score, in addition to secret characters, you can also unlock weapons. The total cost of the Handcannon's upgrades is 790,000 pesetas. To unlock the Handcannon get a five-star rank on all mercenaries.

Unlock Infinite Rocket Launcher And Mathilda Handgun  -  Beat the game to unlock the Mathilda handgun and the Infinite Rocket Launcher. The items will be unlocked for purchase at any merchant if you load up a "Round 2" game save. The weapons come with a hefty price, too.

Max out your health while fighting the first El Gigante!  -  In the area you fight him there is a yellow herb you can use with a green herb to increase your health. Grab it and use it to increase your health then let him kill you, which won't be that hard. After your game is over continue and you will have all of your green herbs again and the extra health. The yellow herb will be out there again so grab it and repeat the process increasing your health over and over again till its maxed out fairly early in the game..

Special Costumes  -  After beating the game the first time, when starting a new game or playing a Round Two game, a new option appears that allows for Leon and Ashley to wear special costumes. Leon wears an R.P.D. uniform, Ashley wears pop sensation clothes, and Ada wears her black outfit from her mini-game.

Harder Difficulty  -  In Professional difficulty, everything is the same except for the fact that enemies are alot tougher to kill. To unlock it just finish the game once.

Get Unlimited Ammo Handcannon  -  Fully upgrade the Handcannon's firepower, reload, and capacity. The 'exclusive' option then raises the attack power to 99.9 and gives infinite ammo.

Free Ammo  -  When you upgrade any weapon's capacity at a merchant, he will refill the magazine free of charge. This is very helpful with the magnum, or TMP

Unlocking the Punisher Pistol  -  When the guy who runs around and sells you upgrades for weapons, he has a secret "quest" for you. You have to search 2 areas of the game for the blue medallions & shoot them (there are 15 altogether). Doing this gets you the Punisher Pistol.
