While playing against a friend, be sure to pump fake as often as possible before a shot. Most of the time, they'll fall for it hook, line, and sinker, giving you a clear look at the basket or, even better, foul your shooter and send them to the line for a possible three-point play. 

If a defender steps up to contest your shot, pass off to another teammate while in the act of shooting to reset your offense and get off a better shot. 

If you have a dangerous three-point bomber on your roster, be sure to set plenty of screens and get him the ball behind the arc whenever possible.
