Seventh Power Cell -
To acquire the seventh Power cell in the Volcanic Crater you must enter
Spider Cave and get jucied up w/yellow Eco from the eco fountain that is
to your left and up from you as soon as you enter the main cavern. Once
you have it jump down directly in front of the entrance and run like
your life depends on it. Now! here is the key to success, the four
platforms that lead back to the volcano must be traversed in SINGLE
JUMPS! It is possible I've done it. The double jump just takes to much
time, now from the platforms you will get to the first ledge, climb up
the next ledge and stop, use your FPS mode to target the small metal box
sitting on a rock formation (that the mine carts circle) and fire away.
In my best time I could only squeeze off two fireballs before my power
faded. Also as a side note your fireballs are stupid and unless you get
it lined up perfectly they will take off either too far left or too far
right, once you get it though, assuming you have all the other cells,
the precursor door and all its secrets await you. If you look at the "boarder" around the
map on the back of the instruction booklet you will notice it looks a
bit like writing. Well it is and this is the translation:
"In ancient, dreamless, uninvaded sleep, the silent giants wait to
be awakened. Deep will their slumber be, silent their once echoing
voices, until the world has no memory of their beginnings. In the gloom
they will watch and they will wait. those who go to them for answers
will return only with new questions. But there will come a time when
silence ends. The one who carries the light will awaken the voices. With
him, one whose fate was twisted towards darkness in the time before
time. When the light bursts from the earth the answers to the questions
will begin. But only begin, for still the world will not be ready to
learn the truth of it's past, or the secrets of it's future."
This explains what is inside the precursor door at the ending and it fits
with what Samos says at the being.
Sentinel Beach Poles - On sentinel beach there are two
poles, you need to push them up. So you need to make sure that Jak is
sitting down (L1) before hitting the pole, this will push the pole up,
so you can get one of the scout flies.
The 5th crystal in Spider Cave - The crystals seem
easy to find, but they get harder as you destroy more. The 1st you
destroy should be the one in the first room, with the gnawing lurkers.
The 2nd near a Dark Eco pool between the gnawing lurker room and the
lurker mine. The 3rd is on a ledge between the dark cave and the gnawubg
lurker room. The 4th is in a water pool (not Dark Eco!) in the dark
cave. Also finally the 5th is in a water pool by dark cave. when you
enter the room with a Dark Eco pool that you have to hop across, on your
way to dark cave, instead of going left, go right. You have to get across
the dark Eco pool by running at it then pressing (and holding) L1 then
before you get to the edge, jump. You should perform a Roll Jump to the
other side. then you dive down (into the water) and hit the crystal
before Roll Jumping back again.
Faster Zoomer - Hold L1 + R1 to go faster on the Zoomer, at the expense of maneuverability.
Secret Ending - Get 100 or more power cells and finish the game to see a secret ending. If you get less than 100 power cells, you wont be able to see it.
Last Crystal Spider Cave - The last crystal is in the spider cave, their is a second water pool that
doesn't have dark eco in it. So that is the fifth crystal. Also the 7th power cell in the volcano crater is that box on the rocks by the coal mine carts however after powering up I still can not shoot it, but I
heard it has been done.
Alternate ending - Successfully complete the game after collecting at least 100 Power Cells.
When you need to jump extra long, do the following : double jump and spin, this will sometimes get you those extra few inches you really need...
The last power cell in the volcanic crater is in a metal box on a ledge as you exit the Spider cave. to get the power cell go into the spider cave, power up on yellow eco run out and shoot.
Faster credits - Once the names of the Naughty Dog staff have been shown and have disappeared off the screen, hold X or Circle, The credits will speed up and be completed in a few seconds.
How to unlock Different Ending: Collect 100 power
cells and finish the game.
Beware of the big fish! Unlimited Yellow Eco When Using Yellow
Balls (NOT vents, Find really hard Power Cell in Volcanic Crater., Boss
One, Snowy Mountain Fort , Free Precursor Orbs!!!,
Beware of the big fish! If you go into deep water, you will hear a
heart-beat. Then it will go faster. Go to shallow water quickly!!!! If
you can't, you're doomed. A big fish will eat you even if you jump! It
won't eat you if you're on the zoomer.
Unlimited Yellow Eco When Using Yellow Balls (NOT vents -
When you see a yellow eco ball (NOT yellow eco vent) get it and stand in
the same place where you found it and when you shoot as long as you are
in the same place it will automatically charge up again.
Find really hard Power Cell in Volcanic Crater - Go to
volcanic Crater and go on the mine carts to the opening of Spider Cave.
Now turn around and you will see a little metal box on the rock. (It's
higher than your head so go to first person view mode and go to very
edge to see it.) Now that you know where the box is, go in spider cave.
Find the closes yellow Eco vent to the entrance of the cave. Power up
and run as fast as you can out of the cave to the rock. To make the trip
faster use rolling jumps. (run press R1 or L1 than you roll than press x
and you do a long leap) and when your at the rock get to the edge or
close enough and jump press box to shoot a yellow eco ball and it should
home in and explode the box. The power cell comes out, get it. To find
more power cells you didn't find go to the strategy guide on this site.
It really helps.
Boss One - Avoid the spikey creatures it sends forth until
their pointybits disappear then move in for the kill. The boss will then
sprout two giant leaf platforms ,use them two jump and strike it in the
head. repeat this three times.You'll be victorious! {Forbidden Jungle}
Snowy Mountain Fort - When you get inside the Lurker Fort On
Snowy Mountain, there's a big wooden structure right in front of you,
climb it. Once you get the PC(power cell) next to the scout fly and orbs
on the top, jump down to the platform that is the highest one.(you just
jumped of it to get up to the power cell). If you look around to your
back you will see another PC on a different wood structure. You have to
go all the way around the fort on platforms to get to it. But, if you do
a running horizontal launch (L1+square while running) from the platform
your on, you can skip all the hassle of going all the way around and get
another Power cell! Good Luck. |
